Welcome to The Single Parents of Tweens Meetup (ages 10-17). We hope to provide a means of networking and social opportunities for single moms/dads and their "tweenage" kids.
As single parents, we have the usual parenting issues with additional responsibilities thrown in for good measure! Being the single parent of a preteen makes my son and I too old for Mommy & Me gatherings? and the trust factor is not quite there yet for leaving him home alone. For single moms/dads, our free time is often limited and more structured. The group seeks to provide some much needed support with other parents during these sometimes trying times as we navigate the issues of budding adolescence and the teenage years.
Events include:
Movies, laser tag, burgers & shakes (what else?), rock-wall climbing, miniature golf, and friendly social outings without our kids.

I'd really like to bring my 13 y.o. son to his first concert. Dave Mathews would have been a good choice... but they're sold out. While Nick could care less about Sting; I think he'd like the experience.
